FREMONT, Ohio – It’s President Rutherford B. Hayes’ birthday, and First Lady Lucy Hayes has hidden his present.

Rutherford has 30 minutes to find it, and he needs your help.

Lucy left clues inspired by the presidential history Rutherford knows and loves, along with a few surprises. With the president busy in meetings all day, it is up to your team to uncover the clues and find this hidden, precious gift.

This is the premise of the escape room experience offered on Friday, Oct. 4, which is President Hayes’ birthday,  at the Hayes Presidential Library & Museums during the American Presidents Film & Literary Festival.

The escape room lasts 30 minutes. Participants can choose from the following available times: 5:30, 6:15, 7, 7:45, 8:30 and 9:15 p.m.

Although the escape room is geared toward teens, adults are welcome to participate.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://americanpresidentsfilmfestival.org/ticketing/. Each escape room time is limited to 10 people.

The American Presidents Film & Literary Festival is organized by the Liberty and Learning Foundation, Fremont City Schools, Birchard Public Library and Hayes Presidential Library & Museums.

The festival is committed to providing a place for expanded national and international understanding of the history and current events that have and continue to shape and influence the President of the United States. Utilizing the site and community of America’s first presidential library and museum, filmmakers, film professionals and authors will inspire audiences to explore, understand, critique and analyze the people, places, politics and power surrounding the American Presidency.
